Relocation of Waste Transfer Stations
Who:
The Toowoomba Regional Council is a local government area located in the Darling Downs in Queensland, Australia. Prior to its establishment in 2008, the Toowoomba region once existed as 8 distinct local government areas.
Challenges:
Harbak was commissioned to assess the locations of waste transfer stations in Toowoomba. The relocation was required due to the construction of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.
Strategy:
Harbak was a key player in managing and assessing the site selection of new waste transfer stations for the Toowoomba Regional Council. Harbak was directly involved in the management of the relocation of Council’s existing waste transfer station to its new facility.
Results:
Harbak were instrumental in providing input into the design and location of the new facility which is a state of the art, well located and efficient station providing collection and recycling facilities. Further, Harbak managed the site selection process for the Tier 2 Waste Transfer Stations.
