The Western Downs Region is a local government area in Queensland, Australia. Prior to the 2008 amalgamation, the new Region, located in the Darling Downs, consisted the entire area of five previous local government areas which were: Dalby, Chinchilla, Murilla, Tara, Wambo and Taroom.
Western Downs Regional Council wanted to evaluate and review the cost and operations of transfer stations within their region.
Harbak was commissioned to project manage the procurement for the management of waste transfer stations in the Western Downs Region. Harbak was required to conduct market sounding and prepare tender documents for the Western Downs Regional Council as well evaluate the proponent’s response to the tender.
The results of this process allowed a significant monetary saving on operational costs to the Council.
